tempted

Staring down a tunnel of my own desires
Pullin on the hammer, loud click, I fire
Bout to be crucified but not into life
On a dull piece of lead, hell bent on strife
Wait, what about my son and wife?
My names on that brass, my life it requires
Liar
It’s echoes and mirages
Now I’m falling through the air and seeing things anew
I always felt so high climbin that blue spruce
Ball games on warm days and long rainy hikes
All the moments I fell short and no regrets nights
But still what about my son and wife?
These hungers can’t be satisfied by earthly fun
Lord get me through this, there’s no way to run
And give me faith to desire that your will be done
Your will be done regardless the price
And faith to find joy in breath, death and life
And joy to sustain me when desires abound
And faith that you’ll call me when my head hits the ground.
Peace.
